A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

I found this on one of the dog-related pages I follow on Facebook and thought it'd be a good idea to share with our Doodle Family. I know most of us are very aware of these things, but a reminder never hurts. Let's take care of all those loving paws out there!

Thanks Dianne for sharing that, Granada is only an hour away from us, so we will be pretty close to each other.

Oh, and Dee, your place looks amazing!  Did you know that our fellow members Pilar and Kala are from Granada?  So there is at least one doodle in Andalucia!

Thanks, Alessandra!  I've never seen this before, although the first summer I spent in California I stepped outside barefoot to take the trash out and almost peeled the bottom of my feet!  Would imagine it's really hard on puppy paws and reminds me to be very careful with Dulcie!

Yes but Canada is lovely too. My husband would love a place in Whistler so he could go skiing, I also really like Vancouver & did hope to relocate there but the job did not materialise in the end, shame :( Next choice was New Zealand but the last earth quake put paid to the place we liked, hence we settled for the ruin in Spain & at least the dogs can travel there with us :)

That's wonderful Dee! Congratulations, it is so exciting and especially since it's a project that you're working on, it looks so quaint and lovely! It will be a very special G&T you'll be drinking (let me know, I'll toast at a distance with the same ;) and a very rewarding experience, I'm sure.

I've never been to Andalucia, but my parents have and they loved it! One beautiful corner of the World for sure!

It's going to be a summer home unless we decide eventually to retire there. At the moment it's still a ruin but we have just got electric, water, septic tank & lane put in this year, we are hoping to get at least a kitchen, one bed & bathroom by next summer so that we can all go over for a month. It is exciting & we can't wait to get it all done (hopefully 2015). The property is near Antequera which is in Andalucia, it's set on a south facing hill full of olive trees & has no neighbours for half a mile! Can't wait to drink my first G&T sitting on a terrace with my husband & dogs, watching the sunset. Lol

Same as you, rarely does it ever get that hot out here but just in case, since the weather seems to be changing all over the World. I guess in extreme heat people may resort to the booties, same as in Winter, extreme temperature exposure can hurt their little paws...

So are you moving to Spain or is it a Summer home? Where in Spain? How exciting! Congratulations!

Thanks Alessandra for reminder. In the UK we don't really have this problem but next year we are hoping to take our guys to our new house in Spain which could be a problem in the summer, are there ways round walking them, how do dogs cope in countries with extreme heat??
