ah, sorry... reading further I see he is napping at you and husband...   Totality not acceptable.   At nine months he is beginning to take charge..   You are rewarding him by the chase that follows..   Use the words No with affirmation.. Loop a collar around his head;  attach him to the kitchen table leg... then turn around and ignore him...  As for barking take that one step at a time...  teach him to 'speak' on command..  (lots of SMALL treats)  one finger to your lips when he is to be quiet.   You really can teach that in about hour or less..   one small treat when he speaks on command , one small treat when he is quiet.

LOL  ten shade of Gray, Love him  \\

He will learn to return to his crate if you use the word (crate) enticing him with a treat..  Just toss a biscuit inside.   He'll follow.

Thank you all.  Boone was solid Chocolate when we got him at 12 weeks, time will tell :)

Forgot to say, catching him to put him in his crate is becoming a game for him.  Don't fall for that trap.  Distract with something else (like the puppy pushups, for example), but don't "try to catch him".

Ah the teenager phase - go back to basic training.  Just give him enough exercise, and exercise his mind by going through the commands he knows.   Sometimes I just put my two through the "puppy pushups" = "sit" (treat), "down" (treat), repeat several times.  It helps.

I haven't experienced it.  You can probably talk with a trainer for some advice.  Boone has a beautiful coat!  Do you know if he will eventually turn all silver?

Hi Everyone, Boone just turned 9 mths. Within the last few weeks he has started barking at my husband and myself and if we turn to ignore him he runs up to nip us.. When he does this, we both have tried to catch him and put him in his crate for time out, once he has had crate time he is a total different dog, calm and acting normal. Anyone been there, are there? Please tell me this is normal and will pass!
