Sunny is a Flipping Doodle...

Sunny is a Flipping Doodle…
…or maybe he is just flipped-out, I don’t know. If you have a proper name for this silly Goldendoodle action, I would sure like to know what it is.
This flipping of objects occurs so fast that until yesterday, after I looked at the pictures, I had no idea what was really happening. If you also look at the pictures you will understand what I am saying. The photos are in order of his action so you will notice Sunny is wet at the start and dry at the end. He had been in the pond trying to get his kick-ball, but that’s another story.
Sunny flips his toys, his dog treats, and in these pictures, his favorite rock-of-the-day. Or Rock du Jour if you want to get fancy about it. In this case it’s a small triangular shaped rock and I deleted the pictures where you couldn’t see the rock. He tosses the rock and then catches it but I have no idea which of those two actions is shown in the pictures. And it happens too fast to see in detail with the naked eye. If he drops his rock, or dog treat, or toy I pretend I am going to grab it. Then of course we go through the “stand-off” game which I’m sure everyone plays.
Enjoy, and if you find objects in strange places, this could be one of the reasons how they got there…

Thanks so much Martha.   I was very surprised when I saw that the rock was captured in the shots.   I didn't anticipate that at all but I think it makes the pictures.   Is it possible that most Doodles have some form of this game but we don't realize it?   I had no idea how complex this was until looking at the shots.   It's hard to see in the reduced photos but Sunny's eyes also seem to follow the rock most of the time.   That's amazing IMO.   And that's at less than 5 months of age...

Seems like Sunny has created her own game!  Love the shots - great photography.

Is it possible that Dulcie catches the toys more times than you are aware?   I knew that the rock wasn't always landing in the pea-gravel but had no idea that all this action was happening...

Great picture sequence!  Dulcie flips her own toys, balls, etc., but doesn't usually manage to catch them! She mainly does this when I haven't had the time to play with enough, as if to say "Well, I'll just do it myself then!"

Thanks so much but most credit can go to my camera!   I was really surprised myself how they turned out.  I was more surprised how much body-action goes into flipping...

Absolutely love Sunny, the Flipping Doodle Boy... and Les Rocks du Jour, how fancy indeed :)

Good job with the photos Kathy!
