ear infection??

Finn's ear has vinegar smell and after looking inside, I could see some black looking gunk of some sort. Is this sign of an ear infection? He doesn't seem to be bothered at all by his ear. Continue

Hello Doodle Lovers! I’m needing advice. My girl Zuzu is a gem and I’m totally smitten with her. However, I’m sure others aren’t feeling that way right now. She’s 4 months and 43 lbs. jumping on…Continue

I want Lily to be able to have toys but she wrecks them as soon as she gets them!  I bought the toughest dog toy from Kong that said "Tiger Tested" on the package.  I go back in the  room and see she…Continue

Oh Carole... I've said this before to other new Doodle humans but my Pedro who is now a 5 year old (yet still my baby) went through an intense teething, mouthing phase and my arms had so many scars I was almost concerned that people would think I was cutting myself. It is definitely a phase and it will go away and my advice is always to yell "Ouch!" really loud (the real pain helps) and that seemed to startle him and I think -though I might be reading too much into it- that they realize that they're hurting you and they stop. You have to be consistent as with everything with these adorable Doodles because I am convinced that they train us more than we train them and consistency in how we react to their behaviours (wanted and unwanted) is the one thing that we really control... or so I think. LOL! Anyway, enjoy Louie because the one other thing that I've said over and over again is that puppyhood, which minus the mouthing is very cute and enjoyable, is over before you know it and you will miss it. :)

Hi Carole!!  I thought I was the only one that had a biting doodle when she was a pup.  Hey, not to worry!  After 2 years Louie should be about done biting!!  LOL!!   I had to squirt Bitter Apple on my pant legs and she learned really quick.  If I had sweat pants on she would grab hold and pull my pants down!!  He WILL grow out of this but it seems like forever when you are waiting.  Keep us posted!!  Good luck!!

Hi Lily and Amy,
Glad to be a part of your group! I've had dogs most of my life and I've loved them all. But I have to say Finnegan has this special gift to just melt my heart and make me smile! He's just such a crazy love bug! Looking forward to sharing stories with everyone!

I absolutely love my Doodle! He is an angel and is so fun to play with. He loves to wrestle with me and starts me out everyday with smiles and laughs. When we are worn out from playing with him he is satisfied with either playing with his toys himself or calms quickly and relaxes. He's also turned my husband into a dog person.

I am so happy to have found a site where people love to talk and share how we love our doodles! I tried my best to reach out to the purchasers of my Daisy's littermates to maybe meet for an occasional reunion, but not one response :(. She will be 9 weeks in 2 days. Its hard to believe how she has grown already and it seems as though we have had her forever. She starts kindergarten next week! Mostly to train ME. I have scratches all over my arms from allowing her to play a little to rough. I love looking at all of the doodle pics here and reading other experiences!

Hi Carol, thank you for joining the group!  I am sorry to hear of the loss of your pet last year.  Such a hard thing to experience.  I am glad you have opened your heart to Louie.  My Doodle is 2 years old and still likes to chew like she is a woodchuck!!  I did but Bitter Apple to spray on my furniture legs and other items I was not willing to share as a chew toy.  Now if I hold the bottle she knows that mommy means business!!

Hi June, Mercy and Cuddles,  what a great testimony for the Doodle. I find this so interesting.  How do Mercy and Cuddles help you during your day?

I have also joined your group.  I have two golden doodles I have Mercy Me who has been through training and is a medic alert dog. She dose not want to do alot of the other service dog tasks but will if I ask her she would not do it for the trainer and almost flunked out till we found she has a knack with letting me know I am going into arrithymiass and also a few other things, Cuddles came to me fro a breeder in Colorado and actually has taken over the training they were trying to do with Mercy, It is going much better on the other stuff a service dog is suppossed to do they all have their knacks don't they Mercy will be used as a Medic alert  and let her be a therapy dog as she loves people and we will let Cuddles do her thing. But both my doodles are special in their own way and both have such special qualitys
